Spray on Shine®
Our patented Spray on Shine® is an eggless bread wash. It is a simple blend of vegetable gums and food starch. It has a slightly sweet taste but does not add any flavor. Spray on Shine® enhances browning with natural ingredients and can be easily customized to the appropriate level of shine. This product shortens baking time up to 20% when applied before goods are baked. It also acts as an “adhesive” for streusel or cereal toppings on crackers, cookies, cakes and pies. It is generally used to replace egg washes that are normally brushed on baked pastries, but it does not introduce the spotting and microbiological danger of other protein-based systems.
Spray on Shine® is hypoallergenic and tolerates long-term freezing on a product without losing its functionality. It is simple to use, too. There is no mixing, stirring or shaking required. Just spray it on with a hand-held sprayer. It does not create a mess when you use it, and there is no clean up when you are done.
